Crochet Doll’s House Furniture That Is Just Too Cute For Words

Crochet Doll’s House Furniture That Is Just Too Cute For Words

There’s something about doll’s house furniture that is just so sweet. And when it’s made from our very favourite material – yarn, obviously! – then it’s all the more adorable. Our doll’s house furniture crochet-along is something you just HAVE to take part in. So crochet all three parts and make a little one squeal with delight… or, indeed, make your own childhood dreams come true!

Read on to find out how to make crochet living room, bedroom and nursery room furniture for a standard 1:12 scale doll’s house…

Crochet Living Room Furniture

Part One: Living Room
We’ve got a sofa, cushions, coffee table, lamp, TV, TV cabinet and rug for you to crochet. Doesn’t our Sylvanian family look right at home? Variegated yarn works really well for the rug, while a touch of easy embroidery helps bring the cabinet, cushions and lamp to life. You could also crochet miniature bunting to decorate the walls.

Crochet Bedroom Furniture

Part Two: Bedroom
The crochet bedroom furniture is just as sweet! Make a bed, patchwork blanket, pillow, side table, mirror, rug and wardrobe to complete the room. All three parts use basic stitches, so you’ll have all of the items done in no time at all. Want to make the bed bigger? It’s easy enough to extend your stitch count.

Crochet Nursery Room Furniture

Part Three: Nursery
Use pastel colours to crochet nursery room furniture. Our pattern includes a cot, changing table, rocking horse, mobile and playmat. Isn’t it cute? The mobile has mini stars and a crescent moon hanging from it, but why not experiment with other shapes if you prefer?

If you don’t have the yarn kits that came with issues 97, 98 and 99 of Let’s Get Crafting, just use colourful DK yarn from your stash – we’ve also used variegated yarn for the living room, eyelash yarn for the bedroom, and fluffy, fleecy yarn for the nursery, but this isn’t essential.

And don’t feel like you have to own a doll’s house for these projects to work. Life is what you make it, so use a shoebox, a shelf or even the floor to play make-believe. Our sister title PaperCrafter has even got a project on how to make wonderful doll’s houses from cardboard boxes, washi tape and a few scraps of paper…
